Nonprofit Accounting & Advisory Services (NAAS) Senior Advisor

hfco is a mid-sized, privately owned CPA and advisory firm based in Maple Shade, New Jersey. It is hiring a full-time Senior Advisor for its Nonprofit Accounting & Advisory Services practice. The role can be fully remote, but you must be at the New Jersey office at least twice a year.

• Serve as in-charge accountant on complex nonprofit engagements and act as the client’s main contact.
• Help clients with budgets, audit preparation, grant reports, compliance and internal controls.
• Prepare and review close workpapers, financial statements and Form 990 series returns.
• Advise on GAAP treatment, functional expense accounting and grant compliance.
• Design accounting database structures, usually in QuickBooks Online, and review the work of in-charge accountants and bookkeepers.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field, at least five years of high-level accounting experience and experience reviewing workpapers. A public accounting background is strongly preferred, and a CPA license, or progress toward one, is preferred. The firm says it runs on EOS. The listed salary range is $70,000 to $75,000.
